Craig started his Painting and Decorating apprenticeship in 1980 in his hometown of Whangarei . After completing his four of years training, Craig qualified with Advanced Trade Certificate.
Craig has worked in the painting industry since leaving school and has worked on the tools, in retail, in senior management for a multi-national painting company and now as the owner of Global Coating Services.
Craig is a motorsport enthusiast having raced dirt track for many years in Superstock Cars and Super Modifieds. When his daughter was born Craig finished racing soon after to spend more time with his family and eventually went back to a previous passion of motorbike riding. Unfortunately this was his undoing as in 2014 he had a serious crash which left him a tetraplegic.
This has only slowed Craig down a bit, he is still active in running the business and is very focused on his family, wife Shelli and daughter Emily. He still loves motorsport, only now as a spectator and is hoping to get more time now to go fishing.
